Meeting Minutes

Topic 1: IA2 Relicensing

JS: meeting between Janina, Karen Copenhaver, Jim Zemlin, Ted Ts'o - Janina combing through minutes to determine from whom to get permission

WW: please include Malte

JS: waiting for KarenC for suggested language

Topic 2: Formal Relationship with AIA

JS: concerns about participation and disclosure of what AIA might not want disclosed - not a good fit for LF/AIA (open versus fairly closed) - KarenC will be talking to Microsoft about that

Topic 3: AT-SPI over DBus Update

For Reference:

WW: Mark Doffman working on device event controller and some code isworking

WW: some Java work underway, about 8 weeks so far, expect a Q2 beta, migrating Java from CORBA bindings to ATK directly through JNI, then will pick up DBus changeover for free

WW: speech - gnome 3.0 will ditch corba, this will impact speech, Luke Yelavich at Canonical wants to get speech fixed

WW: magnification - nothing happening, there is a longer term potential to get Aegis dollars

BT: looking into atspi dbus, no cspi dependency

Topic 4: Website Update

Linux Foundation's New Content Management System (CMS) Interface

  • David Ames' announcement of the new content management system
    • GJR notes and caveats:
      • WARNING: You will receive an invalid site certificate error when you attempt to access the beta version of the Linux Foundation's new CMS because the certificate is for and not
      • there is a "Skip to Navigation" link, but not a "Skip to Main Conents" link
      • there are some un-alt-texted graphics on the LF's portal page
      • the back-end needs XHTML Roles and ARIA markup to increase accessibility and put the LF site on the cutting edge of what assistive technologies can do with landmarks, roles and ARIA
        • Status: in progress
