Agenda for 2007/05/08

  1. Introductions if needed
  2. LF: Charter Text, Open A11y Branding/Identity - Janina
  3. State bits - Pete
    • JAWS doesn't have an issue with using two calls. Also JAWS doesn't support 64 bit ints. Freedom Scientific prefers to not change their code.
  4. Bias used on roles - Pete
    • Although biasing the roles at an offset above 32K would have been more ideal both JAWS and Notes 8 code are near completion and their organizations prefer not to make a change.
  5. IAText::oldText/newText life cycle management
    • We'll talk about this issue on the 15th.
  6. IAText::text
    • The Notes 8 word editor returns failure if -1 is used on the endOffset.
    • The AT can use textAtOffset with boundary ALL.
  7. Python wrappers - Michael Stewart
    • The wrappers are almost done. An exercise program using/testing the wrappers is being written.
    • Pete Brunet needs to publish them, but waiting for IBM legal review.
  8. IDL
    • The six methods that return arrays are incorrectly specified. Since these methods specify that the server manages all allocations including the top level arrays it is not correct to require the client to pass in the size of the array. That would only make sense if the client allocated the top level array (of longs or BSTRs) prior to the call.
    • See Don Box article:
    • These are the methods: IA2::extendedStates, IA2::localizedExtendedStates, IAAction::keyBinding, IATable::selectedRows, IATable::selectedColumns, IATable::selectedChildren
    • JAWS does not currently use any of these interfaces
    • The Notes 8 development team may not get time to fix this.
    • An evaluation is needed to understand the impact of versioning on ATs. Firefox, Eclipse, etc would use a later version than JAWS or Window-Eyes are currently using with Notes 8.
  9. Inspect tool - Mike Squillace
  10. Eclipse - Larry Weiss, Barry Feigenbaum
  11. Firefox - Aaron Leventhal
  12. Wikipedia
    • Please contribute and/or review.
  13. Proxy DLL - Pete Brunet
    • Info about how to create the proxy DLL needs to be published.
    • JAWS doesn't need it. But Window-Eyes does.
    • No progress last week
  14. Developer Guide

  15. Oleacc.idl
