Minutes November 17 2010

From The Linux Foundation

Attendees:

Jeff Licquia (LF), Stew Benedict (LF), Russ Harrold (Owl River), Alan Clark (Novell), Robert Schweikert (Novell), Mats Wichmann (Intel)

Agenda:

  • LSB 4.1 beta testing status.
  • Time for beta 2?

Minutes:

Jeff: Progress on 4.1 testing. Beta is out, some feedback on testing. Seen a bit of bug activity. I've been tied up a bit in cert stuff.
Jeff: Been looking over some of the sdk issues, discussing in irc.
Jeff: With the bug activity, a couple of questions. How has testing been going? Is it time for beta2?
Robert: Was there an announcement? Did I miss something?
Jeff: No, there is marketing activity that's been holding it up.
Alan: Is the marketing targeting the beta or are they concerned with it affecting other things?
Jeff: Targeting the beta.

some conversation whether marketing should be involved at the beta level

Jeff: So should we do a beta2 spin, given that we'd pushed a number of fixes?
Robert: Yes, probably should

Jeff: Anything else we wanted to talk about?
Mats: Sorting out the bug issues, how do we get this done? We did a session last week.
Jeff: We did most of the 4.1 targeted bugs, but we need to do another pass over the new bugs.
Jeff: Do we want to do weekly triage sessions? Do we want to something every week until 4.1 is out?
Mats: We should have some sort of triage on a regular basis, independent of release.
Jeff: Does the 1:00PM Eastern on Thurs work for everyone interested?
Jeff: I'll go ahead and schedule this for the next few weeks, skipping next week (US Holiday)

Jeff: Anything else?

End Of Call
