It is vital that the 25 word description reflect the content of the presentation. The abstract should include the basic content of the proposed session, the method for information delivery, and the source of the information. This abstract will be printed in the conference program. Please note, abstracts may be edited for length at the discretion of the conference organizers.
This Open A11y panel will discuss, and gather additional requirements for its proposed interface specification to facilitate plugins to AT for enhanced knowledge domain accessibility.

Please note all session rooms are set theater style (chairs only), and are equipped with a projection screen, a color projection unit, one lavaliere microphone, and one hand held microphone. The following technology maybe requested:
Presenters of accepted labs will be contacted by conference staff no later then Friday November 30, 2008 about lab setup. If equipment is not listed, it is the responsibility of the presenter to acquire.
Session lengths are 30, 60, and 120 minutes. 60 minute sessions are open to all varities of session. Only exhibitors may choose 30 minute sessions.
Only presenters of labs may choose 120 minute sessions.

Expert Markup Handlers for AT: A Proposal From Open A11y
This Open A11y panel will discuss, and gather additional requirements for its proposed interface specification to facilitate plugins to AT for enhanced knowledge domain accessibility.
Generalized content markup (such as HTML) is complimented by markup specifications that facilitate more semantically precise content markup. Examples of specialized, semantically precise markup include MathML and MusicXML. Assistive technology (AT) typically handles generalized content markup, but does not know about specialized markup. Because of this, users of AT are unable to access or navigate specialized markup effectively.
The Open A11y Expert Handlers A11y is exploring a standardized plug-in mechanism to AT software. The goal of this plug-in standard is to allow AT software to take advantage of expert software that understands specialized markup. This plug-in standard will allow the expert software to provide enhanced, semantically rich access to specialized markup so that the AT can properly render (visually, aurally, and/or tactilely) and help users navigate the semantic meaning encoded in the specialized markup.
