======Google Summer of Code 2021======

This is our list of project ideas for the [[https://summerofcode.withgoogle.com/|Google Summer of Code]] program in [[https://developers.google.com/open-source/gsoc/timeline|2021]].

**Note: GSoC will be different, the 3-months student projects will be replaced by part-time projects, 6-weeks full-time-equivalent, to be done in a 10-week time-window. Stipends are appropriately reduced to the half amount, leading to the same per-hour value.**

Dear students, if you want to apply for doing a Google Summer of Code project with us you can choose a project from our workgroup's lists but you can also present your own idea fitting to any of the work groups below. Please note that you have to choose "The Linux Foundation" as your mentoring organization, independent of the workgroup where you want to do your project.

**Note:** If you want to participate as student, you DO NOT need to be member of the GSOC group on the Linux Foundation web site, this group was formerly used for writing these pages and now it is not used any more.

=====Notes to take for students=====

  * On your application be sure to mention which of the listed Linux Foundation projects you are applying for, if applicable. If you are suggesting your own idea be sure to clarify that.
  * Follow the scheme of our [[:gsoc:google-summer-code-student-application-template|student application template]].
  * Follow the [[http://google-opensource.blogspot.com/2011/03/dos-and-donts-of-google-summer-of-code.html?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+GoogleOpenSourceBlog+%28Google+Open+Source+Blog%29|DOs and DON'Ts]] for students.
  * On the front page click the field to apply as a student and then choose "The Linux Foundation" as your mentoring organization from the long list. To find it, use the filter field under "Name" or use the drop-down menu at the bottom to display the full list (there are more than 150 organizations).
